I am not getting out digging much lately, due the filming schedule for WW2 Treasure Hunters. Actually, saying that, I am digging a LOT, but I just can’t share it until after the show has aired! We have already had some amazing finds and have only just started filming, so plenty more to come. Hopefully!
In the meantime, I will continue with blogs relating to identifying weapons and ordnance. This one is purely American small arms and ammunition.
The manual shown below is a compilation of outstanding numerical data of the weapons, mounts, ammunition, and miscellaneous equipment that came under the jurisdiction of the US Small Arms branches of the Ordnance Department.
Lots and lots of pages, with lots and lots of decent pictures. Lots of information on everything from the M1911 .45cal pistol, through rifles, shotguns and MGs, as well as mortars and 20mm cannon.
I’ve converted the manual into picture format so everything is available on this page in one hit. Hopefully you will find it a useful resource.
